Launching on Reddit without getting removed

How subreddit rules actually work, what mods look for, and the first four weeks of a build that lasts.

Reddit does not have an audience you can buy your way in front of. It has ten thousand small rooms, each with its own rules, its own moderators, and a very long memory. The work is getting invited into a few of them.

What actually gets you removed

Almost nothing is removed for being promotional in the abstract. Things are removed for breaking a rule that is written down, usually one of four:

  • A self-promotion ratio. Many subreddits want nine posts of participation for every one of your own.
  • An account age or karma floor, enforced by automod before a human ever sees it.
  • A domain blocklist. Your marketing site may already be on one from a previous agency.
  • Link posts where the subreddit wants a text post, or the reverse.

Read the sidebar and the automod configuration before you write anything. Most of it is public.

The first four weeks

  1. 1Week one — read. Pick three subreddits. Read every top post of the last month. Note who the recurring commenters are; those are the people whose replies decide whether a thread lives.
  2. 2Week two — reply only. No links, no mentions of your product. The goal is an account with a history in that room.
  3. 3Week three — one text post. Something useful that does not need your product to be true.
  4. 4Week four — read the response and adjust. If it was removed, the rule you broke is in the removal message.
The subreddit is not your channel. You are a guest with a name people are starting to recognise.

What we do for you

We run the participation, keep the account histories real, and check every post against the current rules before it goes out. If a moderator removes something anyway, we repost it elsewhere at no charge — that guarantee is in the shop listing.
